The gold-plated brass finish is rich and even, lending the patens a dignified appearance well suited to liturgical service. The wooden handle is smooth and comfortable to hold, and the gold-plated cross at the junction of handle and disc is a thoughtful detail that adds both beauty and a clear devotional character to the piece. What impressed us most is the balance. Each paten feels steady and well-proportioned in the hand — an important quality when it is being used during the distribution of Holy Communion.
